Barksdale airman arrested for sex crimes

JENNINGS, La. (AP) - Jefferson Davis Parish authorities have arrested a 25-year-old Barksdale Air Force Base flight mechanic who had inappropriate communications with what he thought was a 13-year-old girl.
The American Press reports William Elwood Simon of Bossier City was booked with two counts of computer aided solicitation of a minor, four counts of indecent behavior with a juvenile and two counts of producing child pornography.
Sheriff Ricky Edwards says Simon struck up a conversation with an undercover agent posing as a teenage girl online
Simon was booked into the Bossier City jail on Thursday and was taken to the Jefferson Davis Sheriff's Office in Jennings, where he is being held without bond.
It could not be determined if Simon has an attorney.
