The death of a DeQuincy man at a Lake Charles bar has been ruled a homicide, and the suspect in the case is now charged with murder.

Police say 30-year-old Chad Babineaux died as a result of the injuries he sustained during a fight Saturday at a night club in the 800 block of East McNeese Street. The suspect in the case, 19-year-old Austin James Soileau of Iowa, was arrested at the scene. His charge has been upgraded from second-degree battery to second-degree murder.

Soileau's bond is set at $1.5 million.
