ALEXANDRIA, La. (AP) - U.S. Attorney Stephanie Finley says a 33-year-old man from Ball has been sentenced to two years in prison for growing and selling marijuana.
She said Thursday that Sidney Earl Wheeler III, of Ball, pleaded guilty to manufacture of marijuana and possession with intent to distribute.
Finley says agents searched a building behind Wheeler's house after getting a tip that it might hold marijuana, and found more than 100 plants in two hidden rooms. She says Wheeler was arrested during the search a year ago and pleaded guilty March 4.
Wheeler was sentenced by U.S. District Judge Dee D. Drell.
