Ball man arrested in shooting death

ALEXANDRIA, la. (AP) - An eight-month investigation has led to the arrest of a Ball man in the fatal shooting of a Pollock man on Christmas Eve in the Ball area.
The Town Talk reports 45-year-old Ralph Cosby has been booked with second-degree murder in the death of 32-year-old Kenneth Stephen Funk.
Rapides Parish sheriff's deputies say the shooting took place near Ralph Cosby's home on Dec. 24.
In the days after the shooting, authorities said Funk was shot five times during his alleged burglary attempt. They also said then that the investigation would continue to determine if the shooting was justifiable.
Funk's father, Emery Stephen Funk said Wednesday that the arrest of Cosby vindicates his son.
