BAKER, La. (AP) - The Baker School Board has voted to employ Health Care First LLC to provide student health services within the school system.

During Tuesday's 20-minute debate, board member Troy Watson expressed concern about how the health services would be paid for and how the company's billing practices might affect students enrolled in Medicare or the CHIP health insurance program. She admitted to missing Health Care First's presentation to the board.

The Advocate reports board President Elaine Davis explained that the company receives grants that cover the cost of the services.
