An Opelousas bail bondsman has pleaded not guilty to several federal charges, including two counts of Social Security Fraud, one count of theft of government property, and one count of making a false statement. Federal prosecutors say Kirby Daigle "willfully and knowingly did embezzle, steal, and purloin" over $1,000 in Social Security money between 2001 and 2012. Prosecutors also allege that Daigle twice filed false information about his income with the Social Security Administration and when declaring bankruptcy in 2009. Daigle is free on $5,000 bond.
