Authorities: Wife and child flee prior to hostage incident

An Acadia parish man is in jail after police say he took a hostage at his house.
The Acadia Parish Sheriff's office tells KATC Wayne Boudreaux and his wife were arguing when Boudreaux fired a shotgun twice outside.

Deputies say he then locked himself in the house with a two-year-old while his wife and an older child ran away.
Boudreaux is charged with aggravated assault and domestic battery.
He's in jail with no bond set.
