ANGOLA, La. (AP) - A Louisiana State Penitentiary inmate serving
life for killing two women has confessed to a 17-year-old killing
in Florida.
The Volusia County sheriff says 38-year-old Romalis Gordon
confessed to the April 1993 slaying of 20-year-old Christine
Lazzaro, of Rochester, N.Y., during her spring break trip to
Daytona Beach. No charges have yet been filed.
Sheriff's spokesman Gary Davidson told The Advocate that Lazzaro
was found shot to death on the side of a road in DeBary, Fla.
Davidson said a visit to church service at Angola convinced
Gordon to confess.
Gordon is serving two life sentences for the 2006 murder of two
women during a robbery at a Louisiana truck stop casino.
