Authorities investigate death of Welsh man

On November 19, 2009 at approximately 23:00 hrs, Jefferson Davis Parish Sheriff's Deputies, LA State Police, and Roanoke Fire Department responded to a truck in the ditch near LA 1126 and S Main Road, south of Roanoke, LA. Upon arrival, first responders found the vehicle and also found the driver under the truck in the ditch. Jennings Fire Department was called out to assist in extrication. Upon further investigation, detectives were called to the scene. Deputy Coroner , Charles Deese, arrived at the scene. The body showed what appeared to be a small caliber bullet hole in the body. The body was sent to Calcasieu Coroner's Office and Deputy Coroner , Zeb Johnson, confirmed by X-ray that indeed there was a bullet. The SW LA Crime Lab Forensic Unit assisted in the evidence recovery. The victim has been identified as Kenneth Wayne Harmon, Jr., B/M, 12/27/85, from Welsh, LA. At the time of the investigation, investigators learned of a shooting that happened on Peterson Street in Jennings. At this time, we do not know that the incidents are related or not.
