In the Northern Hemisphere, the shorter days and cold temperatures are a sure sign that winter is here and the Christmas season is approaching. In the Southern Hemisphere spring is giving way to the long days of summer and an unprecedented heat wave is gripping Australia!
Some of the interior sections of the land down under could see temperatures higher that 40 degrees Celsius, which is 104 degrees Fahrenheit. The sun angle is almost directly overhead over the northern parts of Australia. Very dry conditions are normal this time of year, and when the moisture decreases, the heat can increase.
