An audit by the Louisiana Legislative Auditor's office shows theft in one elementary school in Ouachita Parish.
The News-Star reports the theft at Swayze Elementary was discovered through a school district internal audit and reported by the district to the state auditor and the 4th District Attorney's office.
The audit finds the school board has already taken appropriate action in dealing with the personnel involved who are no longer employed at Swayze Elementary.
Director of Business Juanita Duke said the audit showed that about $480 in cash was missing.
