LAKE CHARLES, La. (AP) - Defense attorney Richard Bourke,
director of the Louisiana Capital Assistance Center in New Orleans, has been appointed to represent 52-year-old Lee Roy Williams in a Calcasieu Parish quadruple slaying case.
The appointment came during a Thursday court hearing.
There are reports that Lake Charles defense attorney Charles St. Dizier was named to assist Bourke.
Williams was arrested Tuesday in the Labor Day weekend slayings of 28-year-old Crystal Dawn Fruge, 29-year-old Kendrick Warren Lavergne, 19-year-old Terry Banks and 26-year-old Jessica M. Eugene at a mobile home south of Lake Charles.
Sheriff Tony Mancuso said he believes Williams acted alone in the killings. But he hasn't disclosed how the victims were killed or a motive for the slayings.
