Morgan City Police say the suspect from a 2013 shooting in the area of Orange Street and Federal Avenue is now in custody.
Detectives located Barron F. Kenner, 40, with the assistance of Terrebone Parish Sheriff's Office in the Houma area.
Kenner was wanted on an attempted second-degree murder charge stemming from an October 21, 2013, shooting, which left two men injured.
Both victims were treated at local hospitals, according to police. The first victim was treated for non-life threatening injuries and the second, a bystander to the incident, for a bullet wound to the leg.
Three nearby schools -- J.B. Maitland Elementary, Holy Cross Elementary and Central Catholic High -- were placed on lockdown after the shooting.
Kenner was arrested by Terrebone Parish Sheriff's Office and transported to their lockup facility awaiting transport to the Morgan City Police Department.
Kenner was arrested on warrants charging him with Attempted 2nd Degree Murder; Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon; and Possession of a Firearm in a Firearm Free Zone
