Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control Commissioner Troy Hebert says he will not reinstate Desperado's Cabaret's liquor license. Hebert made that decision today during a hearing. He tells KATC because of the federal indictment against the owner, James Panos, he's extending the suspension until Panos' federal case is resolved.
Hebert temporarily suspended the the liquor license was suspended after federal agents raided the business on Dec. 5. Panos is accused of allowing prostitution and drug sales to take place at the adult nightclub.
Panos' next court appearance is scheduled on Jan. 17 when he'll enter a plea before a federal judge during his arraignment.
