Opelousas, Louisiana - A calm and gentle spirit will be remembered at 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA., for Pastor Willie L. Smith, Sr., 60, whose earthly tasks of life were completed, on Sunday, June 10, 2012 at Lafayette General Hospital in Lafayette, LA.
Final resting place will be in Bellevue Memorial Park in Opelousas, LA. Rev. Clifford Moore will officiate at the services.

Cherishing his everlasting memories, are his children, two sons, Vernon Jones, Jr. (Denise) of Opelousas, LA and Willie Smith, Jr. of Houston, TX; a daughter, Kristi Smith-Malrey (Adam) of Houston, TX; his father, Horace Smith, Sr. of Opelousas, LA; six grandchildren, Brittany Bellard, Brianna Minor, McKinnly Bellard-Jones, Cameron Jones, Madison Jones all of Opelousas, LA and Tyler Malrey of Houston, TX; five sisters, Lois Smith Ghant of Columbus, GA, Mary Helen Franklin (Alvin) of Baton Rouge, LA, Myrtle Manuel, Joy Smith and Rachel Smith all of Opelousas, LA; three brothers, Rev. Horace E. Smith (Margie) of Kingwood, TX, Murry Smith and Horace Smith, Jr. both of Opelousas, LA; a sister-in-law, Caroline Arvie of Opelousas, LA; six brothers-in-law, Ollie Reed, Jr. (Anna Wise) of Houston, Texas, Allen Reed (Gloria), Harry Reed (Jeanne), Larry Reed (Glenda), Michael Reed (JoAnn) and Kurt Young all of Opelousas, LA; two Godchildren, Jacqulyn Reed and Kalin Manuel both of Opelousas and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and special friends, who will miss him deeply.
Awaiting Pastor Smith's arrival in heaven, with arms stretched wide, is his beautiful wife, Nova Reed Smith. He was also preceded in death by his mother, Leola Theresa B. Smith; his father & mother-in-law, Ollie & Anna G. Reed, Sr.; two brothers-in-law, Major Reed and Robert Arvie and a sister-in-law, Lois Reed.
Visiting hours will be observed from 8:00 A.M. to 11:00 A.M. Saturday, June 16, 2012 at Greater Mt. Calvary Baptist Church in Opelousas, LA.
