GONZALES, La. (AP) - Gonzales Police have arrested two Ascension Parish Drainage Department employees for theft after they were caught removing toilet paper from a restroom in Jambalaya Park.
The Advocate reports 50-year-old Lawrence Morris, of Napoleonville, and 25-year-old Corey Breaux, of Donaldsonville, are believed to be behind a rash of thefts from the park's restrooms this week that had netted more than 60 rolls of toilet paper through Wednesday.
Surveillance cameras showed the men entering the restroom shortly before 6 a.m. Thursday and officers caught them exiting with a bag containing 10 rolls of toilet paper. Five more rolls were found in the men's car.
Morris, a parish employee since 2006, was also booked with outstanding warrants for disturbing the peace and simple assault.
Breaux has worked for the parish since 2009
