Tropical Storm Arthur is a bit stronger this morning with winds near 60mph. It's still near the Florida coast and is in an area more favorable for development. Forecast models indicate a more northward turn today with strengthening. A trough in the upper levels over the Great Lakes should help to pull it northward. It'll be hugging the coast as a hurricane near North Carolina tomorrow and by Friday will be clipping the New England Coast.
More heat and humidity here at home with highs in the mid 90s today and a heat index near 100. A front will produce showers and storms through the ArkLaTex today. That front will slide southward toward the coast bringing a better chance for rain in Acadiana tomorrow.
Over the 4th of July weekend, slightly drier conditions will move back in. Just a few afternoon storms by Saturday and Sunday.
