MANSFIELD, La. (AP) - The sheriffs of DeSoto Parish in Louisiana and Shelby County, Texas, say the arrest of a 37-year-old Joaquin, Texas man suspected of trafficking millions of dollars in methamphetamine into East Texas and northwest Louisiana will put a big dent into the local drug trade.

DeSoto Parish Sheriff Rodney Arbuckle and Shelby County Sheriff Newton Johnson say the arrest of David Shane Adkinson, culminates an eight-month investigation that spanned a half-dozen Louisiana parishes and Texas counties.

Along with Adkinson, the Times reported Wednesday that 13 alleged accomplices have been jailed and another 15 are expected to be indicted soon by a federal grand jury.
