Arrest made in Odile Street shooting

Lafayette Police have arrested a 17-year-old in connection with the Odile Street shooting that happened last night.

Jacoby Andrus of Lafayette was arrested and booked on three counts of attempted second degree murder.

The shooting took place Thursday around 6:15 p.m. on Odile Street near West Alexander Street. Police say two people in a vehicle began arguing with two people in the roadway, when the passenger of the vehicle got out and started shooting. When officers responded to the scene, the victims told officers that the suspect was in a vehicle near their location when the disturbance occurred. The suspect reportedly exited the vehicle and fired a pistol in the direction of the victims, striking one person in the leg. The suspect then fled the area in a red vehicle.

One of the people on the road sustained a gunshot wound to the leg and was transported to an area hospital in stable condition.

The investigation remains ongoing.
