GONZALES, La. (AP) - Ascension Parish sheriff's deputies have
arrested a Gonzales man in the hit-and-run of a 15-year-old boy who
was riding his bike.
Deputies say 43-year-old Lawrence J. Furlow is accused of
hitting the boy shortly before 2 a.m. Saturday near Steven's Park.
The boy was taken to a Baton Rouge
hospital, and he remained there Monday in serious condition with
head, back and internal injuries.
Furlow was arrested and booked Sunday on counts of felony
hit-and-run, negligent injuring, driving under suspension and
careless operation of a vehicle.
It was not immediately known whether Furlow has an attorney.
