Arrest Made in Fatal Fire in Acadia Parish

A Crowley man has been arrested following two arson fires within city limits. The first happened shortly before 3:00 am on January 8, 2011 on James Street. This fire claimed the life of Brian Alcock. The second fire occurred on January 10, 2011 at 1816 May St., shortly after 2:00 am. There were no injuries to report.

Chief K.P. Gibson says the suspect confessed to the crimes. He's been identified as 32-year old Jeffery James Cart. He's been charged with one count of Aggrevated Arson and one count of second degree murder.
