Arrest made after $85,000 missing from UL

University of Louisiana at Lafayette Police Department was notified of missing funds from the Parking and Transit Division by the UL Lafayette Internal Auditor.

The auditor determined ongoing thefts were occurring and turned over his findings to the UL Lafayette Police.

Through the investigation, detectives were able to determine that an employee, N. Eileen Hanson was responsible for a series of thefts starting in October 2009 until May 2011 totaling approximately $85,000.00.

Based on the information received during the investigation, detectives were able to obtain an arrest warrant through the 15th Judicial District Court for the arrest of Ms. Hanson.

Ms. Hanson was arrested for theft over $500 without incident and transported to the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center. The investigation is still ongoing.
