Arrangements are now set for second Iberia Parish employee, Jody Joseph Anthony, Sr., of St. Martinville, who was killed by an allegedly negligent driver on Tuesday as Anthony worked on US 90.
Anthony, a 57-year-old husband and father with 11 grandchildren, is said to have enjoyed singing in the church choir, dancing, riding motorcycles, and watching racing.
Visitation will be observed Saturday, July 12, at Notre Dame Catholic Church at 201 Gary St. In St. Martinville from 7:00 a.m. until 10:45 a.m. on Saturday. The rosary will be prayed at 9 a.m. during the visitation. A mass of Christian burial will follow at 11 a.m. officiated by Rev. Augustinus Seran. The internment will proceed afterward at nearby Queen of Peace Cemetery in Saint Martinville.
The scriptural readings will be made by Dimitricia Batiste and Dianne Darby. Anthony's sisters, Wanda, Josephine, Patricia and Janella will serve as gift bearers.
Music will be provided by the men and women's church choir that Anthony especially appreciated.
Pellerin Funeral Home of St. Martinville is in charge of arrangements. The obituary and guestbook may be accessed by clicking here.
Anthony and co-worker Ross Migues were putting up rezoning signs for Iberia Parish when they were impacted by the parish vehicle the pair had exited after a Mitsubishi Galant had first struck the parish vehicle, state police reported.
