The Auguste "Nonco" Pelafigue Foundation, a nonprofit corporation established to work towards the beatification and ultimate canonization of Auguste "Nonco" Pelafigue has published a website to help accomplish the objectives of the organization.
Nonco was a pious and devout man who walked the dusty roads of the Arnaudville community spreading his message of love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus and His Blessed Mother, Mary. He also taught at the Little Flower School, a parochial school administered by the Sisters Marianites of the Holy Cross. Former students are invited to submit pictures of their days at Little Flower and also to write and submit essays of their memories of Nonco.
The website also provides a Prayer List link where names can be submitted. Membership application and online Memorial Donation can also be made.
The Auguste "Nonco" Pelafigue Foundation's mission is to provide religious, educational and charitable programs which will continue the work of Auguste "Nonco" Pelafigue and to explore his beatification and canonization for his tireless work of spreading his message of love of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, especially to those who are dealing with the hardships of life and to strengthen and grow the Catholic faith.
Arnaudville has seen many of its important elements all but disappear. The website will preserve some of the history of the area and will also be a venue so that any possible miracles attributed to Nonco can be reported and documented. As one member of the clergy stated: "What an exciting undertaking-to promote the memory of the great Nonco. He is certainly a saint, no doubt."
Another objective of the group is to build the Auguste "Nonco" Pelafigue Memorial Prayer Garden in the Arnaudville community to provide a peaceful and contemplative place for local citizens and visitors and to educate individuals about the life and legacy of Nonco.
