The Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce is enhancing a long-term goal of perpetuating a "Community of Innovators" by merging its Annual Acadiana Innovation Awards with INNOV8.
Applications for the 2013 INNOV8 Awards are now being accepted and winners will be recognized during INNOV8 2013. A project of the Greater Lafayette Chamber of Commerce Innovation Division, the INNOV8 Awards will recognize the top innovations of 2012 in Acadiana to showcase the innovative spirit and inspire new innovators to dream big. The 2013 INNOV8 Awards is in the fourth year of searching for and recognizing innovators in Acadiana. INNOV8, in its second year, will be an eight-day festival of creativity and innovation held throughout Lafayette from Friday, April 19 to Friday, April 26, 2013.
The innovators behind the projects will be showcased at a premier awards ceremony during INNOV8.
Chamber President & CEO Rob Guidry stated that the combining of the separate projects is a "natural marriage of two innovative Chamber initiatives to educate, celebrate and inspire the people of Acadiana to create the transformational changes found in an economically and culturally thriving community."
Innovations submitted can range from products, processes, businesses to programs or any other projects that had a significant impact in their respective field. Qualifying projects can come from anywhere in Acadiana including public, private, education and non-profit sectors of the region.
Development and or accomplishment of the submitted innovation(s) must have occurred between January 1, 2012 and December 31, 2012. The application deadline is February 28, 2013.
