NEW ORLEANS (AP) - The state agency that oversees most public school in New Orleans is about to unveil its plan to make choosing and enrolling in a school easier.
The Recovery School District set a Thursday afternoon news conference to introduce what it calls a more transparent enrollment process.
The district runs some schools itself but most of its schools are run by independent charter organizations.
The new system will involve one application. And the RSD says it will make applying to schools easier while creating "a level playing field" for all families seeking access to the schools they want their children to attend.
