KNOXVILLE, Tenn. (AP) - A motorcycle rider from Louisiana has become the latest fatality on an East Tennessee mountain road.
According to WBIR-TV in Knoxville, 60-year-old John Henson of Carencro, La., was riding on U.S. 129 just below the Great Smoky Mountains National Park on Wednesday when he ran off a curve and plunged down an embankment, killing him.
The trooper's report said Henson was wearing a helmet.
The curvy section of highway where the crash occurred is known as the Dragon and is a favorite ride for motorcyclists.
