Deputies are investigating whether another inmate in St. Mary Parish was using a phone from inside the jail to update his Facebook page.
According to an article in The Advocate, the Facebook page of inmate Alvin Terrell Louis shows almost 100 posts from July 16th until Monday. They appear to come from inside the jail and even reference other inmates who got caught for using phones earlier this month.
Those five inmates (Joseph Lightfood, Jonathan Robinson, Quintal Davis, Michael Crouch, and Spencer Bourga) were charged with possession of contraband after the KATC report aired. All of the items seen in the video were confiscated, according to deputies. They would not elaborate on how the items were brought inside the jail.
A spokesperson for the sheriff's department says they are still trying to determine if Louis wrote the posts or if it was someone outside the jail writing on his behalf.
