Each year the City of Opelousas Tourism Department hosts a fun-filled evening of Halloween activities for the community to enjoy. Safe Halloween for Kids at Le Vieux Village provides a safe environment for the children in Opelousas and surrounding areas to not only enjoy trick or treating but also gives them the opportunity to visit each of the homes in the village in search of more treats. Also, the quick witted "Mitch the Magician," will make an appearance. Mitch will delight children of all ages with his repertoire of jokes, games and balloon-twist creations.
The City of Opelousas is proud to host the 11th Annual Safe Halloween for Kids in Le Vieux Village 828 E. Landry Street on Thursday, October 31, 2013. The event will begin at 5:30 p.m. and last until 7:00 p.m.
Opelousas Mayor Donald Cravins Sr. and the City Council Members are dedicated to providing family-oriented events to residents by offering citizens a fun way to spend time in their own community.
The Safe Halloween for Kids event is made possible with the support of local businesses and organizations that adopt and decorate the houses in Le Vieux Village and hand out treats to the little ghosts and goblins.
