The Lafayette Animal Control Center has a Surrender Prevention hot-line. They have a lot of information that could possibly help someone in a crisis; someone who does not want to give up their pet, but needs a boost of ideas to get through their crisis. Our fliers say: Before you surrender your pet to animal control, let us help you. Behavioral issues: barking, aggression, digging, etc.; Low-cost spay-neuter; Dealing with heartworm treatment; Short-term crisis boarding; Pet-friendly apts; Moving to assisted living. Call 291-5644 after 5pm. Tell us your problem. An LACC volunteer will contact you.
