Animal Cruelty & Drug Arrest in Breaux Bridge

Agents with the St. Martin Parish Sheriff's Office executed a warrant in the 1400 block of Breaux Bridge High School Road. While the warrant was being executed, agents recovered 60 lbs. of marijuana, several prescription pills, a handgun, packing materials and a scale. Additionally, 24 dogs were confiscated along with dog fighting materials.

Perum Williams, 28, was booked into the St. Martin Parish Correctional Center and charged with the following:


Possession of a Firearm in the Presence of a Controlled Dangerous Substance

Possession with Intent to Distribute Marijuana

Possession with Intent to Distribute Schedule III Controlled Dangerous Substance

Possession of Drug Paraphernalia

7 Counts of Dog Fighting Paraphernalia

24 Counts of Animal Cruelty
