NEW IBERIA, La. - American Pollution Control Corp. is an example of one Acadiana company experiencing tremendous growth. AMPOL CEO Kirk Headley is pleased to announce the company has opened a new location in Texas, Louisiana, and it's first in South America.
AMPOL, a leading oil spill response and total environmental solutions provider headquartered in New Iberia, La., will open a new Texas facility in the Beaumont area due to increased demand and growth in Texas. The company currently operates a location near Nederland, Texas. The new Texas office is a testament to the continued, explosive growth of the environmental contractor despite, uncertain times in the oil and gas sector.
The Texas expansion comes on the heels of the opening of an AMPOL office in Lima, Peru in December. The Lima office serves as the main operations center for AMPOL Latin America LLC. This site provides an entire range of environmental services including oil spill response, tank cleaning, site and soil remediation and pollution control product sales in the region.
In addition, AMPOL recently finalized the acquisition of Berry Brothers Remediation in Bayou Vista, La. This new location, AMPOL's third in the Louisiana, is well equipped to handle naturally occurring radioactive material remediation and decontamination. The facility is intermodal, with a five-acre dockside loading zone for vessels, and a large unloading zone for interstate traffic. This strategic location also allows for immediate access to Gulf of Mexico waters.
"These new locations show that our business is continuing to grow to meet the needs of our clients," Headley said. "These strategic locations allow us to be ready at a moment's notice when our clients need us. We have proudly served the Gulf Coast region for decades and are thrilled to have the opportunity to expand our commitment and services further than ever before."
AMPOL employs more than 200 employees worldwide and offers oil spill response, tank cleaning, confined space entry services, naturally occurring radioactive material (NORM) survey and remediation, lead and asbestos abatement services, insulation services, hazardous material (HAZ-MAT) emergency cleanup, soil remediation, demolition services, marine transportation, spill equipment manufacturing and emergency medical services.
