NEW ORLEANS (AP) - In connection to an exhibit at the National World War II Museum - Joe Beyrle: A Hero of Two Nations and The Great Patriotic War - the U.S. Ambassador to the Russian Federation will speak at the museum.
Ambassador John R. Beyrle, who is the son of Joe Beyrle, will discuss U.S. Russian affairs at noon Tuesday.
Beyrle has held the position of ambassador since 2008. He will join his siblings later Tuesday to discuss their father's unique World War II experience. The exhibit explores his story as a young paratrooper, one of only a handful of Americans to fight in both the American and Soviet armies during World War II.
