RUSTON, La. (AP) - A Louisiana Tech alumnus has given the school $500,000 toward a new athletics building, and his company's charitable foundation has matched that with $500,000 for a new wing on the business college building.
Louisiana Tech says Mike McCallister earned his bachelor's degree in accounting from the business college in 1974, and now is chief executive officer and board chairman of Humana Inc.
It says The Humana Foundation gave money for the business college wing.
University president Dan Reneau says McCallister has supported the university since the day he graduated. He was named the business college's alumnus of the year in 2001, and the university's alumnus of the year in 2003.
He became president and CEO of Humana in 2000, and chairman of the board in 2010.
