Alleged bomb threat lands man in Lafayette jail

A Loreauville man is in jail after he allegedly making a bomb threat towards a Lafayette bus station.

Lafayette police say Joshua Derouen called the Lafayette Parish Sheriff's Office for a ride to New Iberia. According to investigators, Derouen told deputies he would "blow up" the Lafayette Transit System's station on Lee Avenue.

Police located Derouen at the station and arrested him. He is charged with communicating false information of a planned arson. He remains in the Lafayette Parish Correctional Center on $75,000 bond.
