State Senator Bret Allain says he has decided to pull his bill authorizing a contract for the Port of Iberia to manage the Iberia Regional Airport. In a letter to the Iberia Parish Council, Allain says "legitimate concerns and questions" came up after the bill was filed, including an "unintentional lack of involvement by some (council) members."
Allain says that he is preparing to introduce a study resolution to explore future economic development projects that would bring jobs to Iberia Parish. That resolution, he says, would urge Louisiana Economic Development to assist a study committee selected by the parish council.
Allain says he will forward the resolution to the council once it is drafted. The Iberia Parish Council will discuss the matter tonight during its regular meeting, which begins at 6:00 P. M.
