Alamo Bowl knocks New Orleans Bowl out of attendance top spot

The New Orleans Bowl has fallen to second place in attendance for the 2013 bowl season.

The New Orleans Bowl drew 54,728 fans to the Mercedes-Benz Superdome to witness the UL Ragin' Cajuns defeat the Tulane Green Wave 24-21.

Monday night's Alamo Bowl attracted 65,918 fans to the Alamodome in San Antonio to take the lead in bowl attendance. That game pitted Texas against Oregon in Mack Brown's final game as the Longhorns' head coach.

Oregon beat Texas 30-7.
