Alabama Woman Dies in Two Vehicle Crash

An Alabama woman is dead after two vehicle crash. According to investigating Troopers, at 1:38 p.m., 53-year-old Donna Saenz of Sampson, AL, was driving a 1997 Chevrolet S-10 west on LA Highway 365. As Saenz was approaching LA Highway 35 she failed to stop at the 2-way stop sign. Her vehicle was struck by a 1996 Kenworth tractor-trailer driven by 41-year-old Barry Gotreaux of Vile Platte.

Saenz was transported to a local hospital where she was pronounced dead shortly after arrival. Gotreaux, who was restrained, sustained minor injuries. Troopers are still working to determine if Saenz was wearing a seatbelt.

Toxicology samples were obtained and will be submitted to the Louisiana State Police Crime Lab for analysis. This crash remains under investigation.
