Alabama Gov. Wants All Harmed by Oil Spill Compensated

DAUPHIN ISLAND, Ala. (AP) - Alabama Gov. Bob Riley says he wants
everyone who has been harmed financially by the BP oil spill to be
compensated.
Riley was interviewed Sunday on Dauphin Island on CNN's "State
of the Union." The show's anchor, Candy Crowley, asked who he
wanted to receive compensation from BP.
"Every one of them," Riley said. He was referring to
fishermen, restaurant owners, gift shop owners, oil rig workers,
hotel owners - anyone who has suffered financial losses because of
the spill.
Riley is scheduled to meet this week with the president. Asked
by Crowley what he would tell the president, he said he would ask
that one person be in charge of making decisions concerning oil
spill response. He said the decisions currently seem to be made by
committee.
