The man who allegedly stole a car and robbed a Lafayette bank last week is now in the Lafayette Parish Jail.
Justin Seawright was extradited from Mississippi Monday back to Louisiana. He is being held on armed robbery and carjacking charges. He is being held on $600,000 bond.
Police say Seawright held a woman at gunpoint last Tuesday night in a grocery store parking lot at the corner of Ambassador Caffery and Congress Street before taking her car keys. One day later, Seawright allegedly held up the Whitney Bank at the corner of Arnould Boulevard and Johnston Street and used the stolen car as the getaway vehicle. Federal marshals arrested Seawright Thursday night at a Bay Saint Louis, Mississippi, motel.
Seawright's initial court date has not been set.
