Accidental Shooting

At about 7:41 this morning deputies were called to the 3700 block of Ridge Road in Lafayette Parish regarding a shooting. Deputies and medics arrived to find 54-year-old Kenneth Miles of Seabrook, Texas with a single gunshot wound to the abdomen. Miles was transported to a local trauma center where is listed in stable condition.
The investigations in continuing but initial reports are that Miles was shot accidentally while his brother inspected a revolver inside a home on Ridge Road. Deputies believe the brothers did not suspect the gun was loaded when the accident occurred.
Kenneth Miles is expected to recover from his injuries.
