Acadiana's Christmas Tree Expert

Marshall Mugnier of Marshall's Nursery has been in the Christmas tree business for the past 55 years.

He goes a little more than an extra mile to bring trees to Acadiana.

Mugnier travels all the way to North Carolina to make sure he can get the perfect tree makig sure people in and out of town can have a perfect Christmas.

Picking a hight or width of the tree is only a matter of personal preference, our expert says what makes a tree perfect is what happens before you see it.

"It's the trimming, you wanna make sure they're no holes in them and then don't buy anything that has any defect in it," says Mugnier.

He says they do 40% of his total business the weekend after Thanksgiving.   
    
Mugnier says this is the best crop of trees he's seen in 15 years.

Something else to keep in in mind a fresh tree can drink up to a gallon of water a day for the first few days, so make sure you check your water often.
