The Saints' undefeated March continues after they pulled off a remarkable comeback against the Redskins Sunday. They're now 12-0 in this dream season and their fans are in heaven.
With the Saints clinching the NFC South Division title this weekend, fans are buying up everything black and gold.
Academy Sports and Outdoors was swamped Monday, with fans dying to get a hold of a NFC South Division Champion shirt or hat.
"We're doing great, best season ever," exclaimed one fan.
For the first time in 30 years, the Saints have made the top 10 in NFL merchandise sales.
"Any Saints gear you can find right now, pick it up," said Saints fan Zach Cook. He was shopping for a division champ tee shirt.
Saints apparel is also a hot holiday gift item. Many shoppers were picking up team gear for their out of state family members.
At Louisiana Hot Stuff in Lafayette, the popular purple and gold and red team apparel made room for a new favorite. "Anything that's black and gold, it's moving," said store owner David Faulk.
The store also carries quirky items including a Saints stamp press for grilled steaks.
Mardi Gras store Beads Galore is stocking up on black and gold beads, Who Dat wreaths, even black and gold bead beer holders.
"I'm hoping they go 16 and oh," said fan Ivan Fields.
The Saints play the Falcons in Atlanta on Sunday.
