Acadiana Repertory Theatre is proud to present the regional premiere of David Stallings' Barrier Island, the first in a cycle of three plays focusing on a small community near Galveston, Texas whose inner workings somehow seem to revolve and devolve around hurricane season.
The year is 2008, and this community is now prepping for the arrival of Hurricane Ike, while dealing with some long-lost community members having returned to town with their emotional baggage in tow. Join ART as we get to know a community not unlike that of a small town in Acadiana, where everybody knows everybody and secrets aren't easy to hide. Barrier Island is directed by Managing Artistic Director, Steven R. Landry, with Assistant Director Debbi Ardoin.
Cast members include Nicholas Begneaud, Larry Blount, Michael Cato, Paul David, Kevin Miller, Shana Ledet Qualls, Erin Spisak, Colette Wild and Etienna Wright.
Barrier Island will take place at Theatre 810, located in Downtown Lafayette at 810 Jefferson Street, and will run August 30 - September 7, with Thursday, Friday and Saturday performances at 7:30 pm and the Sunday matinee at 3:00 pm. Tickets are available at www.acadianarep.org or by calling Theatre 810 at 412-0167. Don't miss out on this stellar production.
