A natural gas platform worker from Acadiana died yesterday on a rig south of Lake Charles.
Unfortunately not much is known about what happened and how the man died.
His name is Joseph Bruno of Breaux Bridge and he was working on an Apache Corporation platform on swing ropes when he fell into the Gulf Waters.
Apache says they don't know what caused Bruno to fall, but he was wearing a flotation device.
Apache says fellow workers pulled him from the water, but he soon became unresponsive and later died.
Bruno was a fire watcher for HIS Fire and Safety Company based out of New Iberia.
Apache hired HIS to do maintenance work on its platform.
