The 2011 Rayne Wolves provided one of the better stories in Acadiana. Despite a horrid district showing, the Wolves righted ship just in time advanced to the 3A Quarterfinals as the No.27 Seed. Just 7 players depart from the squad and that has Curt Ware's bunch thinking big in 2012.
Clarence Leger is back to front the Wolf offense for a 3rd straight season. The dual threat signal caller will have two of his top targets returning: Dannie Harmon and Jaylen Williams. Harmon has bulked up his frame to 220 pounds and will be a load to handle in the run and pass game.
Harmon, along with the trio of Quinn Guidry, R.J. Buchanan and Billy Marcantel will be counted on to provide the stops for Rayne defensively.
The key to Rayne's season, as it was last year, is turnovers. Coach Ware believes that the main cause for last season's district slide was not holding onto the ball. If the Wolves can take care of the pill, it could spell an even deeper postseason run in 2012.
