Acadiana Book Festival in Downtown Lafayette October 30

LAFAYETTE, La. (AP) - Louisiana's poet laureate, Darrell Bourque, and cookbook author Marcelle Bienvenu are among authors at the first Acadiana Book Festival in downtown Lafayette.
Novelists, mystery authors and children's book authors are among dozens of other writers who will be making presentations at the festival Oct. 30.
The Louisiana Book Festival, scheduled that day on Baton Rouge, was canceled because of budget cuts.
The Writers' Guild of Acadiana put together the Acadiana
festival, which will be free and last from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m.
