Noel Acadien au Village was cancelled Tuesday for the sixth time in the past ten days due to rain conditions.
Not only is it disappointing for the volunteers and visitors, but also for a local non-profit. The Village is the major fundraiser for LARC, an organizaton which helps those with developmental disabilities in the area.
"It's always around 20 nights and the proceeds from there help offset the quality of life things that we can't pay for through state and federal funding," said Susan Nini with LARC.
Just like the lights, turnout has also been dimmed this year, which could mean less money for LARC. But with a week left in the season, spirits remain high.
"The forecast looks good for the remaining days, so hopefully everyone can come out and enjoy that, and we'll catch up," Nini said.
Weather permitting, Noel Acadien au Village will be open every night through December 23rd. If you would like to donate to the cause and help L.A.R.C. visit acadianvillage.org
