Acadian Baptist Center held a ground-breaking ceremony on September 16, 2009, to celebrate the expansion project of its dining hall. Completion of the 8,000 square-foot cafeteria/multi-purpose room is anticipated near the end of the year and will enable the camp and retreat center to more effectively serve approximately 12,000 people per year.
Attending the ceremony were Acadian Baptist Center board of directors (dir.) and many others who had a part in the project (left to right): Joey West (Contractor), Charles Pierce (dir.), Mary Miller (volunteer), Orville Rogers (dir.), Mickey Guillory (State Senator), Kit Carson (dir.), Conrad Bieber (dir.), Brodie Ardoin (architect), Terry Hoychick (dir.), Cade (Police Jury, Acadia Parish), Jim Loewer (dir.), Martha Dee Scanlan (dir.), Gene Taylor (dir.), Roger Young (dir.), Jack Tolson (dir.), Buddy Hampton (dir.), Mike Connor (dir.), and James Newsom (Camp Director).
