Acadia Parish Sheriff's Office Investigating Incidents

Acadia Parish Sheriff Wayne Melancon stated that his office is investigating the following incidents:

August 8, 2011
-Report of 4 wheelers on roadway, 1900 block of Pointe Noire, Branch.

-Alligator in ditch, 100 block of Pecan Rd. Evangeline. Louisiana Department of Wildlife & Fisheries responded to the incident.

-Report of 4 wheelers on roadway, 3300 block of Riverside Road Jennings.

-Trespassers on private property, 9000 block of S LA 13, Crowley.

-Theft of IESI trash can, 3000 block of Tanner Road, Scott.

-Theft of IESI trash can, 800 block of Deer Park, Rayne.

-Harassment & threats, 300 block of Moise Lane, Church Point.


August 7, 2011
-Report of three unknown subjects shooting guns from a motor vehicle, St. Lucy near DeGregory, Branch.

-Traffic pursuit, reported stolen motor vehicle, E Northern near Buatt, Crowley. Vehicle recovered owner contacted.

-Criminal damage IESI trash can, 100 block of Dallas Drive, Scott.

-Criminal damage mailbox, 100 block of Robe Drive, Eunice.

-Criminal damage mailbox, 700 block of Deer Park, Rayne.

-Tank battery line on fire, 2400 block of Robert's Cove Road, Crowley. Branch Fire Department responded to the incident.

-Mailbox vandalism, 1600 block of Beatrice, Church Point.

-Suspicious activity, 100 block of Gotts Cove Road, Crowley.

-Domestic disturbance, 100 block of Country Court, Evangeline.

-Criminal damage to property, 200 block of Melody Drive, Crowley.

-Livestock at large, Hwy 190 east of Basile. Animal control responded to the incident.

-Livestock at large, Tanner & Heritage Road, Rayne. Animal control responded to the incident.

-Deputies arrested Devin Redlich, age 25, Evangeline Hwy, Basile and charged him with Aggravated Battery and Criminal damage to property following the investigation of a domestic disturbance that took place on Hwy 97 near Bear Cat Road, Basile. He was booked in the Acadia Parish Jail with bond set at $25,000 by District Judge Kristian Earles.

August 6, 2011
-Theft of a 50 qt. Yeti cooler taken from bed of pick up truck, 2000 block of S. LA 13, Crowley.

-Theft of a motor vehicle license plate, 900 block of Comeaux Street, Rayne.

-Report of dogs killing sheep, 1600 block of Evangeline Hwy. Jennings.

-Theft of copper, 2000 block of Mermentau Cove, Morse.

-Grass & tractor fire, Hwy 13 near Ellis Road, Crowley. Iota Fire Department responded to the incident.

-Report of shoplifting, 100 block of Frontage Road, Duson. Deputies issued a citation to Alyssa A. Flores, N Rife, Ranson Pass, Texas for shoplifting.

-Harassment, 3300 block of Lovell Street, Crowley.

-Shots fired, 100 block of Lisa Drive, Crowley. Investigators advised that a male subject was shot in the buttocks after he was reportedly taken by force in the City of Crowley. A warrant has been issued for Jarvis Victor Martin, Lisa Drive, Crowley for Aggravated Battery.

-A resident located a male subject in her home, 100 block of Lisa Drive, Crowley. Entry gained through kitchen window. Deputies charged Perry D. Davis, Sr., age 32, of Ross Avenue Crowley with unauthorized entry. Bond was set at $10,000. He remains in the Acadia Parish Jail.
-Disturbance, 400 block of St. Henry Street, Church Point.

August 5, 2011
-Disturbance, 400 block of St. Henry Drive, Eunice.

-Report of 4 wheelers on roadway, 400 block of Dr. Parrott Avenue, Rayne.

-Trespassing on private property, Jenkie Bridge, Jennings.

-Theft of automobile keys, 200 block of Melody Drive, Crowley

-Unauthorized use of a motor vehicle, 200 block of Jimmy Drive, Crowley.

-Theft of gold and silver coins, 4200 block of Gumpoint, Crowley.

-Theft of electronic equipment, 100 block of Buckley Road, Crowley.

-Theft of money, 100 block of Finmar Drive, Crowley.

-Grass fire, 3200 block of Mermentau Cove, Mermentau. Mermentau Fire Department responded to the incident.

-Motor vehicle accident, 700 block of Bluegill, Morse. Deputies advise the driver missed the curve causing the vehicle to flip. The driver was taken to American Legion Hospital with non-life threatening injuries. Emily A. Broussard, age 22, Bluegill, Morse was cited for careless operation of a motor vehicle, driving under suspension and no insurance.
